W&H / Sanchez Romate dry mixed case
Williams and Humbert was founded in Jerez in 1877 by two Englishmen and Sanchez Romate has been family-owned since 1781, an independent producer with full control over its wines, from vineyard to bottle.
This case contains three half-bottles (37.5 cl) from each producer, focusing on dry sherry styles only:
Alegria Manzanilla - (W&H) produced using the first gravity pressing of the grapes, and aged in seaside town of Sanlúcar for more than five years. Pale straw in colour, with bright golden undertones. Very dry and light on the palate with a salty tang, reflecting the local micro-climate.
Collection Amontillado 15 Year Old - (W&H) this multiple award-winning old Amontillado originates from the Collection Fino, with at least a further 4 years oxidative ageing. Pungent, intense and complex on the nose with a subtle note of the Fino it had once been. Elegant mellow and slightly nutty, full bodied on the palate with a long finish.
Collection Oloroso 15 Year Old - (W&H) an aged Oloroso with a bright, crisp amber colour. Intense with a walnut-like nose. Very dry, rich with hints of dried nuts and fruits. Very long finish.
Oloroso Encontrado - (SR) meaning 'found', this wine is a unique mature dry style, over 25 years old. Hidden and only recently discovered in Sanchez Romate's 235 year old cellar, elegant with an amber colour and full cask Oloroso character.
Amontillado Olvidado - (SR) called 'forgotten’, this unique mature dry Amontillado is over 20 years old. It was unearthed in Sanchez Romate's cellar and offers delicate notes of hazelnut and antique furniture, dry and precise on the palate, with very long length.
Palo Cortado Escondido - (SR) translating as ‘hidden’, this old school Palo Cortado is aged in 12 casks that have were tucked away by José G. Infante, Sanchez Romate's Foreman.
