Valdespino has one of the oldest histories in the region. The company owns many of its own vineyards, enabling it to make distinctive single-vineyard sherries, many of which are extensively aged.

This case contains five of their renowned dry sherries and one deliciously sweet Pedro Ximénez. Three half bottles (37.5 cl) and three ‘jennies’ (50 cl) are included in the case, the latter are all very old sherries (VOS):

Fino `Inocente` Pago de Macharnudo - a single-vineyard Sherry made from grapes grown in the acclaimed ‘Marcharnudo Alto’ vineyard, acclaimed for the quality of its fruit. Uniquely fermented in oak barrels. Savoury aromas of almonds, olives and dried apples and bone dry, with a saline minerality and a long and complex finish.

Manzanilla `Deliciosa` Pago de Miraflores - the Palomino grapes for the Manzanilla come from Valdespino's single vineyard (Pago) Miraflores. A hint of flower blossom on the nose and very dry, crisp and fresh on the palate with a slightly saline finish.

Palo Cortado `Viejo C.P.` VOS - this very old Palo Cortado is made with grapes from the ‘Macharnudo’ vineyard and the average age of the wine is 25 years. Flavours of intense dried fruits, hazelnuts and walnuts with notes of spices and vanilla, very sophisticated.

Oloroso `Solera 1842` VOS - this wine has a small amount of wine frrom the Pedro Ximénez grape blended in, and the wine averages 20 years of age. It has an intense mahogany colour, with aromas of dried fruits, nuts and caramel. Full bodied on the palate with excellent length.

Oloroso `Don Gonzalo` VOS - blended and concentrated over a 20-year period, this wine features aromas and flavours of caramel, toasted almonds and dried apricots. Very expressive and complex, with great acidity and a very long persistent finish.

Pedro Ximénez `El Candado` - dark in colour, with complex aromas of dried fruits, raisins, toffee, dark chocolate, coffee and spice. Luscious, smooth and sweet with a lingering finish.
